We Change Lives
The United States has over 400,000 orphan children.
Bangladesh has over 4,000,000 orphans…
The South East Asian country is stricken with orphans and helpless children living in severe poverty, subhuman conditions, and are lacking basic needs such as nutrition, clothing, and housing. They have no prospect for education or opportunities that would empower them to function as productive independent adults as they grow.
What We Do
Moulvi Masaddar Khan Orphanage is committed to alleviating the suffering of orphans and vulnerable children in Bangladesh, many of whom have been abandoned and left to live on the streets. The orphanage has been registered Bangladesh Somaj Seba Odhidoptor with registration # Moulvi/457/17. Our aim is to provide for children’s basic needs while equipping them with elementary education needed to become productive members of society. We serve orphans and underprivileged children by providing cooked meals, access to basic education and books, comfortable sleeping and living shelter, adult support, medicine, clothes and more. We are on a mission to improve these children’s quality of life so they can have some opportunity of hope as young adults. So one day they too will be inspired and empowered to give to those less fortunate.
Who We Are
Moulvi Masaddar Khan Orphanage was established in 2012 by founder Abdul Jalal Khan who named the foundation after his late father. The orphanage quickly grew from housing 10 orphans to supporting over 50 boys and girls from neighboring areas who lack basic living support. The school and orphanage facilities were built and funded specifically to provide shelter for the children, right in Jalal’s hometown village of Rajnagar, Moulvibazar District in Bangladesh. With the help of many others and the day to day staff, Jalal manages the facilities while working and living in New York City. The orphanage continues to thrive through his personal funding and generous donations from many supporters over the years.
